Black Rainbow is a national volunteer Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander LGBQTIA+SB social enterprise to pursue positive health and wellbeing of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander LGBQTIA+SB community located in the Top End capital, Darwin, Northern Territory.
Initially focusing on suicide prevention, the diversity of their leadership group has allowed us to expand their horizons. As an unfunded entity, we operate on a hybrid model of donations, fee for service and profit from sales of our educational materials and services.
They currently support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander LGBTIQA+SB people through various community projects and initiatives that they have and continue to develop. They call these initiatives our Contagion of Love projects.
Through their grassroots and diverse approaches, they strive to alleviate the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander LGBQTI+SB people.
They are a non-profit that is 100% Indigenous owned and operated. Black Rainbow is premised by advocacy, leadership, and solutions that identify and address social and cultural determinants of wellbeing related to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians who identify as LGBTIQA+SB.
One of the pillars of Black Rainbow is the philosophy of value-based economics, and as such, a synergy of values with our partners is fundamental to our success.
